When you make the decision to dive into Yoga it can be quite intimidating seeing all the different poses there are. In this post, I am going to show you the top five poses that are crucial for you to learn and very simple to perform.
1.) The Downward Facing Dog
This is one of the most common poses in yoga. This pose strengthens your whole body.
Tips: If your hamstrings start to hurt, slightly bend your knees or stretch arms further out.
2.) The Plank
The plank is a great pose for working your our abdominal region.
Tips: Slide feet back until your feel like your body is at a straight line.
3.) The Tree
The tree is a great balance exercise and may be difficult to get the hang of at first.
Tips: Do not lean onto your standing leg to hard, take a few attempts to find the best way to have your hands so you feel balanced.
4.) The Seated Forward Bend
This pose is great for stretching out your hamstrings
Tips: If you experience any pain, back off a little and slightly bend knees until you reach a comfortable state.
5.) The Bridge Pose
This pose is great for strengthening your back body and stretching the front body.
Tips: Keep feet hip width apart from each other, interlock hands together after lifting your butt.
